This stunning middleweight is powerfully equipped to master its various domains: the thrust and parry of the peak-hour escape run, Sunday morning in the mountains with your mates, or an overnighter up the coast with your significant other.

It’s all too easy with a torque-tuned version of the fuel-injected R6 engine, Controlled Fill die cast aluminium frame, and four-piston monobloc brake calipers – this thing goes like a bullet and corners like a cat on carpet. If you like your excitement raw, try the naked FZ6N, or for a longer distance kind of excitement, choose the bikini-faired FZ6S.

FEATURES

♦   600cc liquid-cooled 16-valve DOHC four cylinder engine with special cams and intake tracts is tuned to produce maximum torque and horsepower at accessible rpm levels. Group fuel injection combines simplicity with outstanding performance.
♦   Clever fuel injection mapping produces smooth power and excellent response, while the Air Induction System, along with a metal honeycomb type catalytic converter, allows the FZ6 to pass the strict EU2 and CARB emissions standards.
♦   Six-speed gearbox, heavy-duty clutch and through-the-frame shifter for years of precise, positive shifting.
♦   Placement of the FZ6’s crankshaft axis close to its roll axis contributes to quick handling and light, positive steering. And group fuel injection combines simplicity with excellent response and performance thanks to a powerful 32-bit processor and 4-jet bidirectional injectors.
♦   Single-piece upper triple clamp/handlebar mount with tubular handlebar provides excellent feedback, front-end feel and light steering. 35-degree steering lock means excellent manoeuvrability in traffic.
♦   Four-piston monobloc brake callipers up front provide excellent braking power and feel while out back, the stylish swingarm complements the bike’s Controlled Fill frame and adds to its light, precise feel.
♦   Contributing to the FZ6’s light feel and outstanding handling are light YZF-R6-type five-spoke wheels, sport-biased 43mm fork and linkage rear suspension, and 51 percent front wheel weight distribution.
♦   Comfortable, upright riding position provides great vision/visibility in city traffic or on the open road.   
♦   Ergonomic seat base and cover material feel soft but solid, and together with new, lower passenger pegs, make it easy for shorter legs to reach the ground. Passenger grab rails and bungee attachment points feature.
♦   Unique CAD-drawn fuel tank meets the needs of style, handlebar clearance and tactile feel in one beautiful package crafted from high-stretch titanium-rich alloy. Battery placement beneath the tank creates optimal front end weight bias.
♦   Superb finish quality of the frame, engine, swingarm and front guard back up the FZ6’s outstanding style and performance. Alumite-finished outer fork tubes add to aesthetic quotient.
♦   Attractive fairing features anti-reversion panels on each side to reduce turbulence (FZ6S only).
