Just about the only thing that isn’t full-sized on a brand new Grizzly 550 is its taste for fossil fuels.
Well, that and the brand new SOHC four-stroke engine, with 558cc of fuel injected, liquid-cooled, job-destroying Grizzly grrrunt. The new engine is bolted to a fully automatic Ultramatic® transmission that makes forward motivation both simple and controllable. It’s mated to the full-house, three-position On-Command® switch feature that lets you move between 2WD, limited-slip 4WD and fully locked differential 4WD - all with a simple push of a button.
The YFM550FAP EPS and YFM550FAP EPS SE feature Yamaha’s world-first design electronic power steering, that dramatically reduces steering effort in low speed or 4WD applications. Controlled by multiple sensors measuring speed and steering torque, Yamaha’s EPS delivers just the right amount of assistance – it’s a technical revolution.

♦ The 500-600cc class has a new leader, with a fully featured package based on its best-selling bigger brother, the Grizzly 700 FI, with a new 558cc powerplant and offering plenty of grunt.

♦ Industry-exclusive, fully automatic Ultramatic® transmission is the most advanced drive system in ATV-ing. An automatic centrifugal clutch maintains constant belt tension for reduced belt wear and industry-exclusive all-wheel downhill engine braking.
